01 December 2011 No better way to finish the season
Team bizhub finished their season on a successful note winning the overall ladies elite category in the Omnicane Southern Tropical MTB Challenge ...
My diary Michelle Corbett
It’s not all the attention from the media, friends, family or the public that watch
you week after week. It’s neither for the money nor the sponsors nor to show on
your CV. It’s for the butterflies you get in the pit of your stomach, when the adrenaline
is pumping through your body that eventually you have no control. When the world
around you stands still and silent as you go through a tunnel, you hear nothing
other than yourself breathing, and see nothing but the finish. When your heart is
beating so fast you think it is going to race through your chest. The rush that
fills your entire body. All the goose-bumps, the hair that stands on the back of
your neck. The tingly feeling in your fingers and your toes. The pride in yourself.
When you have made your parents proud. It becomes a drug. It’s addictive. Victory!!!
You get addicted to the feeling of victory. Whether the team or you are victorious...it
is still addictive.
In my 8years of cycling, I have won countless races including
Nationals both road and track. Nothing ever beats that amazing sensation. A simple
victory, whether it was easy or a real challenge, it makes all your training and
efforts seem all worthwhile. You train even harder and come back the next week hungrier
than ever for your next fix!
