The Argus Arien Torsius
We all came down on the Wednesday before the Argus which was really nice, cause
we could train the whole route and just enjoy and appreciate the senery. What a
beautiful route, I don’t think there is a cycle race that compares to this one.
On race day it windy as usual .. I just laughed a Jennifer, our swiss team mate.
While we were riding to the start line she just kept on saying how dangerous the
wind was …. and all the South African girls just replied: “Last year was soooo much
worse …” hahaha I don’t think she believed us. =)
The race started of kind of slowish, due to the head wind of course. I had some
trouble on Chappies, as people were dropping off and giving dead wheals. Found a
man that did an awesome descend … I think we caught 3 little groups whilst deceding
… it was totally AWESOME!! It was one of those moments where you just feel alive
and like a proper cyclist again. Well caught the group just as they started climbing
Suikerbos, and got caught between the back of the group again. But it was an amazing
race as always, cause the Argus is just a special event.
Cath got 3rd place, which was really nice, seeing as her parents flew all the way
from England to come and support her.
Well now I am all alone seeing as Jen and Cath left for Europe again.
